Greater Pottstown Tennis and Learning was selected by USTA Middle States as a Premier Provider. The Premier Providers were selected and are acknowledged for their excellence in providing USTA tennis programming in one or more of the following categories: Premier USTA Junior Team Tennis Provider, Premier USTA League Tennis Provider, Premier USTA Tennis Tournament Provider, Premier School Tennis Provider, Premier Tennis Special Event Provider and Premier All-Purpose Tennis Provider.
GPTL runs free National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) tennis programs all year for:
- students enrolled in the Pottstown School District
- under-resourced players
- Adaptive (special needs) individuals
The program offers tennis instruction with an emphasis on
- fun while learning
- life skills – character building, positive attitude, sportsmanship
- healthy behaviors
- Free After-school Program from September to June at the Pottstown Middle School
- Free In-school Program for Pottstown Elementary School students
- Free Clinics for 10 & under, ages 11-13, and ages 14-17
- Free 10 & under Summer Camp
- Free Summer Camp for ages 11-17
- Free PEAK (Pottstown Early Action for Kindergarten Readiness) Programs
- Free Adaptive Clinics for players with physical, mental and situational challenges
- Special Olympics Tournaments and Play Days
These programs are made possible through a grant from the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation.
